Miss Misunderstood
Sitting alone in the flame
That’s most days
They look
They think they know
But haven’t a clue
The pain
The crosses
The sacrifices made
The cost of it all
Overwhelms and engulfs
Swallowing me whole
They see only joy
Never sorrow
Foolishly thinking I have it all
I want to run
And to hide
All at the same time
To the mountains or the jungle
Upon the ocean waves
And foreign lands
Surrender is key
For mediocrity and playing is safe
Will no longer do
It suffocates every breath
As death hovers above
And howls below
For it’s adventure
Fearlessness and cliff diving
That feeds a weary soul
An antidote for madness
Mayhem
And holy discontent
It looks reckless
And careless
Who cares
There’s one life to live
One highway to authentic joy
And one staircase to heaven
They will reject, and persecute
Ridicule and laugh
Ignorance is bliss
Mostly they haven’t a clue
A fire hose of salt
To old wounds
An unredeemed soul
Shuttering to a quake
Beneath an aching heart
It’s un-lived life
That can never be grasped
Or capture again
Chances missed and passed
A voice whispers
Love is the cure
From the smiles
The hugs and kisses
Of the little ones
He knows it’s heaven I seek
So He wakes me
In the dark
And stillness of the night
I wait
I wonder
I cry out
Where are you
I can’t see you
Or hear you
What do you want me to do
I am here
I do know not the way
No directions
No sign posts
But one burning bush
In the middle
Where the water flows
He’s calling me back
No logic needed
No rational
Sheer thought exhausts
Plans, schedules, checklists
Who needs it all
Not me I say
Only one response will suffice
A resounding…Yes
For it’s not my ability He seeks
But my availability
I will go Lord
If you lead me
I will go
And not look back
What that means
I do not know
But I will go
There’s no life
In those old nets
So I will go Lord
I’m all in
For you alone
I will go….
And because I don’t do anything with out a little worship music.
These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages. They will pick up serpents [with their hands], and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”…they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs. Matthew 16: 17-18, 20
Spread the Holy Fire everywhere you go Lisa! Keeping you covered in prayer as you minister to God’s people where ever you find them as you journey this summer. {Hugs}
